Post by Mike-Quinte Laser Tag Canada on Aug 8, 2012 11:25:20 GMT -6
Hi all,
I am Mike from Ontario, Canada and have been running a mobile lasertag business since 2007. The business started out as something for my kids to do to save for University instead of working at McD's. This has always been a part-time business that I try to let my kids run (with guidance). So I have made 0$ as all the money goes to the kid's post-secondary fund; in return my kid's University bills have been very small. My day job is as a UNIX systems administrator.

Hello all,
My name if Jeff and my wife and I are currently in Charleston, SC. We are just starting our laser tag business and hope to gain wisdom, knowledge, and learn some tricks of the trade from the professionals currently running a laser tag business.
While we own a retail store at this time we are hoping to build our laser tag business as successful as well.
Good luck to everyone.

I finally have a minute to post here.
My name is Dan Wallace. I have tons of experience owning 3 paintball fields (indoors and out) and 2 paintball retail stores. Just over a year ago I closed up all the paintball businesses and moved to West Point, Va (near Williamsburg) to be with my new wife (and soon to be baby).
I had planned on re-opening a paintball field in the area but after looking into options I quickly saw that OLT solves most of the issues I had been having with paintball and while the two industries are quite similar, there is far more potential in OLT than paintball.
To get my feet wet and gain some experience in this industry, I just started a mobile operation based out of my home. Since it more closely matches my experience, my goal is to open up a fixed location.
I found that in paintball all of the business owners spent so much energy fighting each other for a bigger slice of the pie that it hurt the industry as a whole and they all suffered. I hope that as a group we chose a different approach and instead we work together to bake a larger pie and all enjoy it. OLT is superior to paintball... we can be much bigger.

Hello all, Steve from Halifax Canada here, I am in my third full year as a fixed field and mobile operator.
I retired from the Canadian Forces 6 years ago and looked around for what I wanted to do next. I sat on the idea of OLT for 3 years then decided to commit ( before the wife had me committed)
The family and I have not turned back since and hope to grow more to take over Atlantic Canada and crush all those in my way. BWAHAHAHAHA !
I spend a lot of time educating the general public as Outdoor Laser Tag is a new concept out this way.
The one thing I will not do when educating the general public is put down or diminish another industry such as Paint Ball or ILT.
I am a firm believer in what goes around comes around and it happens to be Our time to shine.

Hi all, My name is Bernie aka Nitro. We have been around since 2008 and run 2 OLT sites in Perth Western Australia. Just thought I would share the fact that we have the best, friendliest customers and I would recommend not taking yours for granted as it would be easy to do especially in busy times. Keep in mind you are providing a safe outdoor sport for all ages and should be proud to be getting bums off chairs

New here I'm trying to start a Halloween zombie haunted hayride. We were going to start this year using paint ball guns. I think laser tag gun system will be safer. So I'm looking to open maybe next year. Fi this works out well I'm also looking to do zombie run in another field. Any addvice would be great!

Welcome. Zombie Tag is very viable and is much easier with laser tag gear over paintball. You can have a higher throughput and less hassle. I run a mobile zombie tag game and work with a haunted house in Buffalo.

Greetings everyone: I am James Jones and along with my wife, Mary, we are starting our Laser Tag business in the FT Campbell area this summer. We will have a mobile unit as well as a 30+ acre battlefield. I'm pretty excited about the new business, it will be the start of my second career. I am retiring from the Army in June after 20 years. I look forward to the advice and networking from your community. Thanks
